Ingredients
24 ounce cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
1. 1. Blend the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
2. 2. Add the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, and parsley. Mix until fully incorporated.
3. 3. Shape the mixture into a tight, smooth ball using your hands.
4. 4. Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 3 days.
5. 5. Before serving, unwrap the cheese ball and roll it in the chopped nuts and dried cranberries (or raisins) until coated.
6. 6. Optionally sprinkle with smoked paprika or cayenne pepper before serving.
Notes
Serve with assorted crackers, fresh vegetable sticks, crusty bread or baguette slices, and fresh fruit slices.
Keep the cheese ball chilled until just before serving to maintain its texture.
